About Shepherd's Door

Our agency was established as a non-profit agency in April 2001 by Linda Offray / Founder of Shepherd’s Door Domestic Violence Resource Center. Working with women everyday of domestic violence, and having a sister that is a survivor of domestic violence Mrs. Offray realized the need for helping with this existing problem.

We work toward empowering the increasing number of victims and their families to break the cycle of domestic violence.

We provide non-shelter and direct services for victims and their children in San Gabriel Valley, in Los Angeles County.

We recognize the impact of domestic violence on all of our lives and work to increase community awareness and understanding of the problem. We have dedicated volunteers committed to making a difference in the lives of families in our community.

We are dependent upon support from local sources: civic groups, religious groups, businesses, private citizens, and government. Fundraisers throughout the year also generate income.

Our agency is a non-discriminatory, equal opportunity agency, collaborates and supported by surrounding agencies such as: D’Veal Family and Youth Services, Case Maria transitional housing for women of substance abuse and domestic violence. Elizabeth House serving pregnant and parenting women, Euclid Villa Transitional Housing for women of substance abuse and domestic violence.

Shepherd’s Door is committed to establishing and maintaining a local community service center that provides multi-cultural service in a culturally sensitive manner and promotes the general welfare of the community. Shepherd’s Door is confident about opportunities in the future and makes every effort to accomplish its goals through collaborative efforts with other agencies. Ultimately, Shepherd’s Door strives to fulfill its motto: “ The Pathway to Safety.”
