LIVE FOREVER LEGACY

Estate planning is a meaningful way to live forever beyond your productive years and even beyond your lifetime.  Currently, Shepherd's Door offers the most straightforward option to live on forever legacy: bequest through a will. Your will ensures your property will be distributed according to your wishes. Bequests are not taxable. Most importantly, your bequest will ensure that future victims and survivors of domestic violence will receive the assistance they need to lead safe, healthy, and productive lives.

You can make 3 kinds of Bequests.

  • Specific bequest; you specify the amount that you wish to bequest to victims and survivors of domestic violence.
  • Percentage bequest: you specify the percentage of your estate that you wish to give.
  • Residual bequest: you state that Shepherd's Door Domestic Violence Resource Center receives the remainder of your estate after other distributions and fees have been made.

HOST AN EVENT:

Is your group, club, or company holding a fundraiser and looking for a worthy organization and cause to benefit with your proceeds. Shepherd's Door would be honored to be a beneficiary of your event. Depending on the character of your event and your needs, we can do the following:

  • Give a presentation about our organization and how we benefit the community, which will give your guests an opportunity to find out more about the impact of their contributions.
  • Host a table and hand our information about our program and the work we do to help victims of domestic violence.
  • Serve as a fiscal agent (for larger community events-proceeds exceeding
  • $5,000.00)
